Welcome
With nearly 1,500 acres, Mt. Airy Forest and Arboretum is the largest park in the Cincinnati Parks system. Mt. Airy Forest is one of the earliest, if not the first, urban reforestation project in the United States. A man-made forest with miles of hiking trails, several picnic areas, a disc golf course, and a multi-use mountain biking trail. Mt. Airy also has Ohio’s only wheelchair accessible public treehouse, a beautiful arboretum, and an enclosed dog park.
The woody plant collections of Mt. Airy Arboretum are situated amidst the beauty of Mt. Airy Forest. The Arboretum serves students, gardeners and homeowners as a testing and observation area for plant growth, habitat, and hardiness of plants in the Cincinnati area. Initially conceived in 1930, many individuals and organizations have contributed to the development and preservation of Mt. Airy Forest and Arboretum. You will see some of their names honored in special plantings, particularly in the garden areas. So come out an enjoy our scenic lake, amazing gardens, and glorious trees.
